St. Peter, Brandon .

This is one of two Green Man corbels on the south side of the church.

Abby Great Gate, Bury St. Edmunds.

On the north side of the Great Gate (inner arch) is this Green Man circa 14c CE.

Abbey Gardens, Pilgrim Herb Garden.

Above the door on the north facing wall, leaves seem to sprout from the bridge of his nose.

St. Michael the Archangel, Beccles.

Found in the north porch (1350-1400 CE)this Green Man is one of many to be found in and around the church. Others can be found in the porch and on rood screen panels.

A pity the porch was used as a makeshift store with a gate across when we visited.

Holy Trinity. Bungay.

A series of Green Man carvings  form  a  frieze on the font.

Shop front, Cornhill, Bury St. Edmunds.

The Green Man can  also  be  found on secular buildings as this shop front shows.

St. Mary, Cavendish.

One  of  several ornate Green Man carvings  which  together  with  painted ceiling create a striking image.

St. Peter and St. Paul, Clare.

Situated in the south porch doorway this Green Man looks oddly lopsided. There is also a second Green Man on an internal frieze.

St, Andrew, Cotton.

This Green Man on the capital of the south porch is almost consumed by the foliage he is disgorging.

St. Mary, Dennington.

Screen decoration in the north side of central aisle of the nave has this tiny 3 leaved Green Man. Two further Green Men to be found on column capitals.

St. Nicholas, Denston.

The east window has several Green Men, the left panel has an animal-like image whilst the right-hand panel (photo left) has a further three Green Men.

Parts of the glazing resemble a jigsaw puzzle which makes finding the Green Men more fun!

St. Mary, Earl Soham.

Roof spandrel second from back (north side). The double hammerbeam roof where this Green Man can be found was rebuilt in the 15c CE.

St. Mary the Virgin, Earl Stonham.

The single hammerbeam roof dating from circa 14c CE has this Green Man roof spandrel, south side. There is a further Green Man on the north side also a roof spandrel.

St. Andrew and St. Patrick, Elveden.

One of twoGreen Men located on the east side frieze. There is a third on the north side exterior.

All Saints, Gazely.

One of two Green Man roof bosses located very high in the church roof - binoculars recommended.

St. Lawrence, Great Waldingfield.

The west door panel, exterior has this lovely Green Man.
